Graham loves looking up at his mobile and we refer to the little animals on it as his friends. I found the girls' old crib aquarium as I was cleaning out a closet and put it in his crib for him. I'm almost regretting it now. He loves it, but now when I try to lay him down for a nap in there, he keeps popping his head up looking for his new friends!
I have this exact same aquarium soother now for Evan, but Jonah used it too! I was having the same trouble with Evan and putting him to sleep because he loved looking at it so much, so this is what I did... I put the switch on the very last notch (where the fish don't move and there are no lights) then I push the other button until I get to the "waves" sound which starts out really low sounding and then gets louder as the "waves" crash on the shore. It took a while, but now he has learned that when I put on the waves, it's time to sleep and it's very soothing for him! He's sound asleep in no time! Hope it works for you as well as it did for me! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea Brooke! I will have to try that!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. We've got that same aquarium, and just recently had to take it out of Hudson's crib because we'd catch him accidentally setting it off at night. All of a sudden, we'd hear that haunting, unknown song (c'mon...you know the one, right?!) and the bubbles going all crazy, and then Hudson would wake up crying. *sigh* We always forget to shut it off...bye bye, good friend. You are no longer wanted.
