I did not give the woman who said to me "oh my, you have your hands full, don't you" in the snidest way at Graham's eye dr. appt. last week, a dirty look. I hear that ALL THE TIME, and am quite used to it by now, so I certainly didn't take any extra offense to it this day.
I did not send dh dirty little text messages all day Tuesday in anticipation of his arrival at home late Tuesday night. I can most certainly contain myself and would not want to tease him in such a way. And how unladylike would that be, anyway!
It was not me that bribed my children with Icees and popcorn if they would just PLEASE sit in the cart and behave themselves at Target. I don't know who would try to fill them with empty calories to get them to behave, but it was definitely Not Me!
Can I tell you how much I hate the "you have your hands full" comment!! Why? Why do people say that to moms?
ReplyDeletePeople always say that to me too! It drives me NUTS! My hubby does not get why that bothers me, and reminds me that I do, in fact, have my hands full. That's not the point...I KNOW I have my hands full. Those people just seem to be implying, "You can't handle that" or "You shouldn't have so many kids". They don't say it in the nicest way, so what am I to think?
ReplyDeleteI've actually had comments like...
ReplyDelete"Wow, boys, must be really hard not having a little girl, maybe you should work on that!" (I'm thinking OMG...are you SERIOUS?!)
And my personal favorte...NOT! "Those aren't your kids, you look too young...go back to school and get your diploma!"
Why are people so rude sometimes? My skin's getting thicker by the day though LOL!
